Josh Elmore, guitarist of the anus splitting death metal band Cattle Decapitation, guests this week, a hold over interview from our trip on 70000 Tons of Metal Cruise, we chose to spotlight him separately since we were able to spend some time with him talking about their videos, his prowess on the guitar, how it came to be, why he thinks he still needs to learn to play better than he currently does now and how he almost single handedly destroyed his family name (according to a close family member)
We also discuss the recent cancellation of a Marduk show in Oakland, how it might be a good thing that metal is getting dangerous again. At least dangerous to people who have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to metal, meaning ‘outsiders’ looking in.
We somehow relate that over to the recent controversy about Attila scrapping with their security staff at a recent show for being brutal to their audience. Is it a good thing that they decided to fight security to help fans, is it posturing, or is it a valid concern with their fans and the way they are perceived?
